IL&FS Education has been awarded the 2015 Yuwa Gratitude Award by Yuva Unstoppable and IIM A. This award recognises the conscious and constructive role played by IL&FS in empowering the society. This award celebrates all those devoted people who have spared sometime of their life towards serving others, spreading happiness and extending love to all. The award was collected by Mr. Sanjay Joshi, Sr Vice President, IEDC at Ahmedabad on behalf of the Group.
Yuva Unstoppable started as a small group of enthusiastic individuals, and today it has mobilized more than 120,000 'young people' with a simple aim of creating a better world to live in. Yuva Unstoppable with its root aspiration of spreading smiles and kindness is initiating a youth voluntary movement for the welfare of the less privileged.
Under their project MPower they focus on "skill enhancement" training for those kids who weren't fortunate enough to complete their high school education. Under this project labs are being set up at various locations in the city where Underprivileged children could go and take the computer education. Under this initiative, volunteers can contribute their time to teach computers to the kids of municipal schools.
Another project, True Hero focuses on two types of education: Hardware and Software. Under the Hardware part they look after the infrastructure as well as the tools required to study while the software part is Value Based Education. Yuva Unstoppable has developed a value based curriculum to spread awareness amongst less privileged children about the aspects of discipline, hard work, morality, and above all to be a better human being. At present this program has been implemented across 100 schools of Ahmedabad. Under this program, they motivate the volunteers to spend 2 hours a week for 12 weeks to teach a systematic curriculum to the students of municipal schools. Teaching a systematic curriculum and imparting value education are the crux of this program.
