Project Himayat mentioned in the Budget Speech 2012
New Delhi: Union Finance Minster Sh. Pranab Mukherjee mentioned "Himayat" Project while delivering the budget speech 2012. During the speech he said ". A new scheme titled “Himayat” was introduced in Jammu and Kashmir from 2011-12. It aims to provide skill training to one lakh youth in the next five years. The entire cost of this programme is being borne by the Centre."
Himayat is a placement linked skill development initiative for training and placement of 1 lakh J&K youth in next 5 years. The programme was launched officially with the handing over of placement offer letters to more than 1000 trainees in Srinagar on 17th Dec 2011 by Shri Jairam Ramesh, Minister of Rural Development, Government of India, Shri Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of J&K. and Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to PM .
Under project Himayat, The Ministry of Rural Development has mandated IL&FS Education to conduct training programmes for the youth.
IL&FS Education has been actively involved in conducting placement linked training programmes for the Kashmiri youth. These training programmes are backed by placement commitments from various reputed companies including Cafe Coffee Day, KFC, Bharti Walmart, V-Mart and Competent Synergies.
